kate and jamie met in 2001 in portsmouth, nh over a cup of coffee and a conversation about moving to western north carolina. a year later they were living in hip and artsy asheville, nc designing and renovating old bungalow homes using an urban country mix of modern & industrial textures and the original organic, arts & craft style. now they’re back in new england, excited to share their style and attitude with salem and the north shore, spotlighting local artisans, sustainability, and the freedom of expression. they opened their first store, roost, in november 2009. the response from the community was tremendous and when the storefront next door became available, they jumped at the opportunity to open another unique store. the beehive could be considered Roost's sassy little sister, with a focus on cards and the lighter side of life.
